BIT Langlang · 2024-05-11 — CEL vs. TRB: Whether to Buy the Minor Pullback or Wait for the Breakout Depends on the Bigger Structure
Through CEL and TRB, the speaker breaks down how to handle an altcoin move from breakout through minor pullbacks, a major pullback and second wave, to scaling out at resistance and the end of the main leg—and why coins with different structures call for different entries. He also reviews the drag from oversized positions, slippage and over-trading. Useful for traders sorting out how to hold and trim positions.

- Pin down the cycle level first: if altcoins are only riding a small BTC turning point, keep holding expectations short and don't extrapolate a full bull run.
- Before entering, mark the breakout level, volume peaks, prior highs and round numbers; scale out at each resistance and exit if the round number can't be broken.
- In a main leg, buy minor pullbacks near the box bottom with the stop below the prior low instead of chasing their breakouts; hold the trend position at least until the major pullback and second wave play out.
- After a major pullback, scale into a possible second wave where a retest holds and stop out if it fails; once the second wave clearly fails, cut half and then close the rest.
- For coins that were already chopping in a big range (like TRB), don't buy below resistance—wait for a confirmed breakout; and make sure the order book can absorb your size so slippage doesn't eat the profit.
