BIT LangLang’s Trading Strategy: His Stated Rules vs 4,807 Real Trades
BIT LangLang’s publicly stated strategy — market phases, capital split in three, at most 10x on BTC and 5x on altcoins, about 40% win rate with a 2.5 payoff ratio — checked rule by rule against 4,807 real OKX trades from 2022-05-24 to 2024-06-20.
The strategy he described publicly
The core is reading the market phase: range, mid-range, late range, main rally or main decline, mid-trend, late trend, back to range — and repeat. Breakout or dip-buy is only the surface.
In execution, direction comes from the daily, 4-hour and 1-hour charts and entries from the 15- and 5-minute charts, mostly the 5-minute. No indicators; the stop goes at a nearby small-timeframe high or low before entry, and no counter-trend trades.
For sizing, capital is split into three and each trade uses one fixed part; at most 10x on BTC and 5x on altcoins; losses are topped up from outside, profits withdrawn, and the part is raised once the account doubles. He put his win rate at about 40% and his payoff ratio at about 2.5.
These points come from third-party compilations of his Q&A and long posts and cannot be independently verified. Below, each one is checked against the trade export.
Leverage: at most 10x on BTC, 5x on altcoins
Of all 1,036 BTC trades, 21.4% used 10x or less; of 3,367 altcoin trades (excluding BTC and ETH), 46.7% used 5x or less.
The half-year trend is clear: BTC trades within 10x rose from 0.0% in H1 2022 to 56.2% in H1 2024, and altcoin trades within 5x from 1.9% to 90.7%. Average BTC leverage fell from 33.9x to 13.9x, altcoins from 12.3x to 5.3x.
Win rate and payoff ratio
He stated a win rate of about 40% and a payoff ratio of about 2.5. The export shows a win rate of 40.8%, a payoff ratio (average win ÷ average loss) of 3.26 and a profit factor of 2.28.
Long vs short
He said he goes long more than short because bull moves are larger and smoother. The export has 3,052 long trades (63.5%) with net PnL of +4.21M USDT, and 1,755 short trades with net PnL of +1.31M USDT.
What he trades: BTC, ETH and hot coins
He said he mainly trades Bitcoin, Ethereum and recent hot coins, watching 4 to 8 altcoins at a time. BTC and ETH account for 1,440 trades, 30.0% of the total, contributing +1.12M USDT (20.3%) of net PnL; the other 127 altcoins contributed +4.40M USDT (79.7%).
Trade frequency and holding time
He said he barely watches the screen without a setup and spends under 5% of his time actually trading. In the export, 77.1% of trades closed within 30 minutes; holds of 4 hours or more were only 6.4% of trades but produced 77.8% of net PnL.
Sizing: one fixed part, raised after doubling
The median margin per trade grew from 2,187 USDT in H1 2022 to 112,000 USDT in H1 2024: position size scaled with the account. The table below shows each half-year.
